The great city of Wright City, Missouri, is located along Interstate 70, about 45 miles west of St. Louis. As part of the westernmost portion of the St. Louis Metropolitan Economic area, Wright City not only provides a country setting for housing, but a potential for economic growth that is attractive for those businesses seeking to cater to the needs of a residential community and facilities for light to heavy industrial businesses.
Primarily single-family, with some multi-family housing, Wright City provides a peaceful, semi-rural area in which to live, yet is within an easy drive for the major sporting and cultural events of the St. Louis Area.
The City of Wright City has two parks: Diekroeger Park and Corwin S. Ruge Memorial Park.
Diekroeger Park is the oldest park in Wright City, and is located on the original county fair grounds. This seven-acre park is located off of the West South Service Road between Exit 199 and Exit 200 of Interstate 70. Diekroeger Park is the site of many family reunions, the "Concerts in the Park" and the Annual Strassenbash, which is held on the third weekend in September. The park has a large pavilion with electric, a cook building, restrooms, playground and plenty of shady picnic area.
Corwin S. Ruge Memorial Park is the newest park, and was developed through a grant from the Department of Natural Resources - Land & Water Conservation Fund and generous donations of time, labor and money by the Wright City Community. Ruge Memorial Park is located in the southern part of the City at the end of South Elm Street. Corwin S. Ruge Memorial Park is the site of the Wright City Khoury League Program, a Jack & Jill Summer Softball League and other activities. The park has a lighted baseball/softball field, a T-ball field, restrooms, pavilion, walking trail, playground and picnic areas.
